Drama Therapy is the intentional use of play, role play, dramatic enactments, storytelling, improvisation and puppetry as a way to express feelings, rehearse and strengthen new roles or ways of being, enhance flexibility, or achieve catharsis. It may be a way to explore different parts of yourself which could include roles or saboteurs which are keeping you from unlocking your potential or in experimenting with strength-based roles that are untapped or need to be cultivated. It may be a way to explore and nurture a childhood wounding. It may be a way to express something which has been too long repressed. Drama Therapy addresses the need for mind-body connection as a path to healing and is often more effective than traditional talk therapy. Regardless, I am trained and work as a Registered Drama Therapist and can offer this approach to you in addition to traditional talk therapy.
